The Buzz is NDCS’s exciting website especially for deaf children and young people aged between 8 and 18 years old. There are two sites – one for children (8 to 11 years old) and one for teenagers (12 to 18 years old).
Why did we create this website?
With your help, NDCS asked nearly 1,500 deaf children and young people about the services they’d like from NDCS. 90 per cent of the deaf young people questioned wanted a dedicated website for young deaf people.
What does the website include?
The Buzz gives you and your deaf child the opportunity to play games and find events near you.
There is a range of fun and interactive Games to play. Your child can also select and store their favourite games to play again.
Your deaf child can vote on our Polls and see who else thinks the same!
The Events section lists lots of exciting NDCS events and activities for deaf children and young people across the country and throughout the year. All of our events – which include sporting activities, arts workshops, camps, holidays and personal development courses – are designed to help deaf children and young people meet and make friends with others, to give them life skills and to enhance their self-esteem.
When your child turns 12 years old, do encourage them to join the young people’s site for 12-18 year olds. They will be able to read about cool topics, check out our info and advice section, search for new friends and chat about the things that matter to them.
